How to Play 4:3 PPT on 16:9 Screens without Distortion

Wondershare PPT2DVD 3.9.2--convert powerpoint to dvd

As the 16:9 HDTVs and LCD monitors become more and more popular in our life, how to play the 4:3 PPT presentations in full screen mode on these new babies without distortion is a big problem to many people. It seems impossible to make it on the face, but how about if we try to add something to fill the blank part of the screen. Please follow me, I’ll show you step by step.
Assume we have a 16:9 wide screen like the rectangular (the gray and the white) below.

The white part is the original presentation, and the gray part is the blank part of the screen. Be sure, if we display a presentation on a HDTV it won’t be showed like this, but two black (or gray) bars on the left and right sides of the screen. Here, we just consider the layout. What we should do now is to add something to replace the gray part. Until I use some PPT to flash conversion tools, I have no idea what is appropriate for the little gray.
Articulate Presentater, Wondershare PPT2Flash Professional, and Pointecast Publisher are powerful tools to convert PPT presentations to flash-based ones. Here, take PPT2Flash Professional for example to show how to use this kind of tools to solve our problem.
Firstly, after installed PPT2Flash Professional (the version I installed is 3.5.0), open the presentation in PowerPoint, we can find PPT2Flash on the menu bar, click the cascade menu, choose Player Templates, in Player we could see the player’s frame. In the full style mode, there is a panel at the left of our slide. It is exactly what we need. With this panel a 4:3 presentation becomes a 16:9 presentation (maybe not a perfect 16:9 proportion, but much better).
Then, let’s have a look at what we have on this panel, Company logo; Author Info, which includes E-mail, Bio, Name, Photo; Toolbar, including Flash Title, Attachments, Notes; Control Bar. Users can manually set which items should be displayed. After personalized the player template, and published the presentation, we get a flash presentation with 16:9 aspect ratio.
Now we can play the presentation on 16:9 wide screens by setting the aspect-ratio control to Stretch or Full.Labels: aspactratio

What is E-learning 2.0

Wondershare PPT2DVD 3.9.2--convert powerpoint to dvd

What is E-learning 2.0
Theoretically speaking , E-Learning 2.0 stands for the second phase of E-learning based on Web 2.0 and the emerging trends in eLearning.
Acutually, the connotative meangings of E-learning fall in key functions.
1. Students create content, collaborate with peers through mechanisms such as blogs, Wikis, threaded discussions, RSS and others to form a learning network with distributed content creation and distribution of responsibilities.
2. It takes advantage of many sources of content aggregated together into learning experiences.
3. It utilizes various tools including online references, courseware, knowledge management, collaboration and search.
The traditional model of eLearning is that publishers created, organized and structured the content into coursesand to be consumed by students. This out-of -date learning modle has been turned on its head. Content now is used rather than read. In most cases, it is reproduced by students instead of producer. When it comes to structure, it is more likely to resemble a language or a conversation rather than a book or a manual. Therefore, the e-learning application begins to look very much like a blogging tool. It represents one node in a web of content, connected to other nodes and content creation services used by other students.
Important trends in E-learning1. Lower effort to compose eLearning solutions based on Web 2.0 technologies and tools2. Demand in corporate settings for training that requires time and that engages learners in the process over a course of time3. Recognition in eLearning of the importance of blended learning4. Student centered design5. The theory of Connectivism6. Free-Libre Open Source Software and open access7. educational blogging

How to convert PowerPoint to flash Using Free Tools

Wondershare PPT2DVD 3.9.1--convert powerpoint to dvd

It would be exciting if you could convert a PowerPoint presentation to flash in a completely free way. With a lot of net searching and tutorial reading, I was able to do it with some Open Source Tools. You can read this step-by-step tutorial to learn the details.
Step 1 I launch Open Office in headless mode with a Mac. Then I open an Xterm and do the following
$ cd /Applications/OpenOffice.org 2.0.app/Contents/MacOS/program/$ ./soffice -headless -accept="socket,port=8100;urp;"
Step 2 Download JOOConverter from http://jooreports.sourceforge.net/?q=jooconverterJOOConverter is an Open Source Java/OpenOffice Document converter to perform conversions between different office document formats.
I use a Java Library JOOConverter to convert my PowerPoint to flash by running
$ java -jar jooconverter.jar powerpoint.ppt flash.swf
The converted flash does not look pretty good with some strange artifacts in it. But it does play with a flash player although no other SWF tool is able to handle or even to read this flash file by Open Office. So I decided to find a tool to tidy up the flash file.
Step 3 Download Transform SWF from http://sourceforge.net/projects/transform-swfThe Transform SWF framework is the tool to parse and encode Flash (.swf) files.
I finally managed to find Transform SWF to rewrite the flash file. I Load it into Transform’s internal swf model and then write it out again. With some nasty hacking of the Transform source, I was able to swallow exceptions caused by the out-of-bounds pointers in the swf file generated by swallow exceptions. And once again, it worked.
I think it would be troublesome to convert a PowerPoint to flash in this way if you do not have some programming experience. For the practical things, you may try some commercial converters in the market like Wondershare PPT2Flash Standard and PPT2Flash Professional

20 Creative Valentine’s Ideas

Are you ready for Valentine’s Day?

While we feel that you should treat every day in your relationship like Valentine’s Day, we do want to help you make this special day incredibly romantic and memorable for both you and your sweetheart.

As we get closer to Valentine’s Day, we’ll continue to update our blog with any cool resources or ideas that we find.

Here are 20 Creative ways to say "I Love You" this February. Do your friends a favor and forward this message to them.

  1. Jewelry is always a favorite
For the woman in your life, buy a heart-shaped locket and put a picture of yourself in it. Personalize the locket with your loved one’s initials so she’ll have something to wear that’s hers alone. Package it in a heart-shaped box or tied to fresh flowers. For your man, a good choice is the classic sterling silver ID bracelet or cuff links with his name or initials custom-engraved.

  2. Sleep under the stars

Buy some glow in the dark stars from the toy department and arrange a special message above your bed.

  3. Rose is neccesary

If your beloved has a green thumb, give a flowering plant to put in the garden to enjoy year after year.

  4. Their very own coloring book

Draw a dozen or so silly pictures of memorable experiences. (browse through photo albums for ideas). Outline in black marker and then have the pages copied and bound on heavy paper at a copy shop. Give with a pack of crayons.

  5. Hold each other's hands and go for a short walk. If you are busy all the past days and have no time to be with your lover, this tip is important for you.

  6. Romantic long drive and a candle light dinner is a fabulous idea.

  7. Computer romance

Change the screen saver on the computer to a scrolling message. For added effect, use a wingding or character font that can’t be read without decoding. Make a flash for your sweetie if you know how to use PowerPoint or Flash MX.

  8. Got milk?

Hide a bunch of silly prizes and a card in your love’s favorite cereal.

  9. Jump start the romance

Tie your card or gift on a three foot string and tie it to the bottom of an automatic garage door. When your honey comes home, the gift will magically arise to greet them.

  10. Rubber ducky races

Go to a nearby river or stream and race rubber ducks. The loser takes the winner out for dessert.

  11. Warm the heart

While your love is in the shower put their towel in the dryer for a few minutes so it will be toasty warm when he or she steps out.

  12. Music to their ears

In your own voice, record a book, fairy tale or poetry on tape or CD for your dearest to listen to on the way to work or while he or she is out of town.

  13. A winter picnic

Move the living room furniture and have a picnic in the middle of the floor complete with blanket, picnic basket, and all the fixings (in front of a roaring fireplace would add to the effect).

  14. Send a mail bomb

Sending a card can be exploding romantic just by adding something unexpected: a feather, leaf, matches, lock of your hair, pressed flower or your handkerchief scented with perfume/cologne.

  15. The personal touch

Gently scratch his back for ten minutes while he falls asleep or brush her hair for the same amount of time.

  16. Mirror, mirror on the wall

Use Rain-X Anti Fog (used to keep car windows from fogging up) and a cotton swab to write a message that will mysteriously appear on the bathroom mirror while your sweetheart is showering. Or put that old tube of lipstick to good use with a good morning greeting on the mirror.

  17. The Jelly Belly game

Blindfold him and feed him Jelly Bellies. If he guesses the flavor correctly, he gets a prize. If he guesses wrong, you get a prize. To make it more interesting, combine flavors (root beer + ice cream = root beer float, coconut + pineapple = pina colada, chocolate + cherry = chocolate covered cherries, etc.).

  18. Welcome home!

Decorate the house for the special occasion. Implement smart tricks for creating the mood for romance. Dim lights, light music, romantic songs and most importantly attire a nice costume specially meant for Valentine's Day. Adorn yourself with jewelry and other fashion accessories.

  19. Make a photo slide show!

Make a photo slide show of you two and burn it to a DVD. With this DVD your sweetie can review the sweetie memory and feel the love of you everywhere and for ever. Not just February 14 , Love should be continuous.

  20. And finally, whatever you do, just let your hair and your defenses down, and enjoy each other's company.

5 Easy Ways to Make This Valentine’s Day Sizzle

Wondershare PPT2DVD 3.9.1--convert powerpoint to dvd

Do you want to just meet your partner’s expectations on Valentine’s Day, or do you want to make this a Valentine’s Day they will never forget?
Let’s start by defining ‘romance’. This may sound easy, but just ask a few different people and you’ll get as many answers as the number of people you ask. Is it something to do with love? Is it togetherness and spending time together?
From my perspective, romance is a celebration of the life you live together. Romance is not responsibility but it is truly caring about your responsibilities towards your lover and partner. Romance is the appreciation of two people who are celebrating the love that they share with one another.
How do you make this an incredibly romantic Valentine’s Day?
Here are 5 tips to make your Valentine’s Day sizzle.

Don’t Buy a card. Anyone can buy a card… Why not be a little more creative and write your valentine a love letter poem. If you’re not a poet, a quick search on Google should get what you need. Take this opportunity to tell your valentine why you love them, what you find most attractive about them, and how much you appreciate your relationship.
Know what they like. Don’t just go out and buy the standard flowers and chocolate. That’s the lazy way out… Get your valentine a gift that will actually mean something to them on a personal level. What do they like to do? What kind of music do they like? What are they passionate about?
Rather that a gift, go on a special date. Again, think about something your valentine truly enjoys, dancing, dining out, or snuggling on the sofa to watch a great movie - a movie that your valentine wants to see.
Everyone loves a little suspense. Start building up to Valentine’s Day a little in advance. Hint about your plans or gift without giving too much away. This will let your valentine know that you’re thinking about them and that you’re really excited about this special day.
Think ‘romance’. Romance includes the words you say, your body language, and your surroundings. Make sure that your attention is 100% on your valentine, not the day’s events or latest sports scores. Get some candles, turn down the lights, and put on some romantic music to create a truly romantic atmosphere.
Not coming up with any great ideas?
Here are some Romantic ideas to get you started.
Breakfast in bed.
Make your valentine’s favorite meal or take your valentine out for a special dinner.
Send your valentine (male or female) flowers at work. If you are on a tight budget, give just one single hand-delivered flower. Remember, it’s the thought not the quantity.
Do something unexpected! Drive across town to take your Valentine out for lunch.
Send a gift basket of indulgent items.
Embroider "I Love You" on his pillowcase. You could also use a water resistant marker.
Poetry is traditional for Valentine’s Day. Make up your own or buy a book of love poems that you can read together.
Dedicate a favorite song to your Valentine on a radio show that he or she will be listening to.
Write "I Love You" in lipstick or shaving cream on the mirror. You could also tape a heart with the words "I Love You" if you prefer an easier clean up.
If your sweetheart is going to be away from you on Valentine’s Day, get several Valentine’s Day cards and put them in different places in his or her luggage. You could sequence them with "Open Me on February 14th" or "Open Me on February 15th" to create some suspense. Don’t limit this idea to just Valentine’s Day!

I Use DVD to play my PowerPoint presentation !

Wondershare PPT2DVD 3.9.1--convert powerpoint to dvd

We all have seen those meetings on television. Some of us have even participate one or two of these types of meetings from time to time. This kind of meeting always have someone walks around the room giving a special slide presentation, and we watch that presentation on a screen in front of us. Many of these presentations are made by the famous program called Microsoft PowerPoint. Robert is one of those presenters, he works in a famous school in his city, and he uses PowerPoint for those presentations.
Robert always uses his laptop and a digital projector to show the PowerPoint presentations. But which embarrasses him a lot is that when he goes other organizations or institutions for lecture. He often finds that there is no digital projector for him to show his PowerPoint presentations.
Robert asked his friends for help, then he found that he can use a television to show his PowerPoint presentation for TV is so common use. How can he play a PowerPoint presentation on TV? “I use a tool called PPT2DVD to turn my PowerPoint presentation to a DVD, then I can play it on TV.” Robert says. “I make a DVD menu use PPT2DVD for my PowerPoint presentations and when I control it with the DVD remote , I can choose from the menu which presentation I should play. This allows for the “list view” “thumbnail view” “auto play” and “manual play” “page up” “page down” functions. This is important for changing slides when making presentations.
So now Robert has free run of the lecture room while he’s doing his presentations. And he says : “ I can burn my PowerPoint presentations to DVD and only take a DVD disk in my briefcase to go for the lecture. I also send my Presentations to my friends or supporters in a DVD disk to them to study .
No more awkward cases, Robert is free to be fascinating while he conducts his meetings.
And finally Robert told us, “This application should be a hit with presenters.” We agree.
