Three ways to convert PowerPoint Presentation to DVD

I had been researching this topic for I was facing the problem a year ago. By trying a lot of software, I found these below methods to convert PowerPoint Presentation to DVD.

1. The best way is to use the professional PowerPoint to DVD software, which is easy to use and powerful. The software I suggest is Wondershare PPT2DVD .It is the best software that can Perfectly convert PPT to DVD without the animation and transition losing. And what’s more, you can control each slide when play it on TV with a remote control just like you play it in PowerPoint.

But this software only run on Windows platform ,can not support Mac.

2. The second way is to use some screen capture software. Capture the screen when you play the slide show when finished you can get a video file such as AVI or WMV or other formats. then you can burn the video to a DVD disk with a burning tool such as Nero. The best software of the screen capture tools is Camtasia studio

By this way you can convert it to video files , But when you burn it to DVD, you can not control the presentation by a remote control for each slide. Only can see it as a movie.

3. The third way to get a good result, if you have the equipment, is to use a TV-out graphics card to output direct to a DVD recorder

The software I mentioned above can be found below.

PowerPoint 2007: Switch to the Slide Master

Wondershare PPT2DVD 3.8.10--convert powerpoint to dvd
http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/download.php?sid=4

In the corporate world, there is a tendency to want to brand every slide with your company logo. Even worse, use the company colours and washed out ‘people shaking hands’ image that the CEO demands is on every slide. How can you make sure that the logo or image appear on every slide? By putting them into the Slide Master.
Think of the Slide Master as the ‘head honcho’ slide. All the other slides in your presentation look up the the Slide Master, and copy (inherit) whatever the Slide Master look like. Generally, if you place the company logo on the bottom right of the Slide Master, every slide in your presentation will have the company logo on the bottom right of the slide.
That is all well and good, but how do you get to the slide master view, especially since the user interface has changed in PowerPoint 2007?
1) Click the ‘View’ Ribbon Tab, then in the Presentation views group, select ‘Slide Master’
or
2) In the bottom right hand corner of the screen (just to the left of the zoom slider) hold shift and click ‘Normal Layout’. This will switch to the master slide view. To change back to the normal layout, just click normal layout, normally. See the image below which explains it far better.

(PS - the pen work in the above image was created using a very bad mouse and the most powerful program in Windows - MSPAINT! If anyone has a spare tablet (or tablet PC for that matter) that they want to permanently lend me, please let me know!)

Add a hyperlink to a presentation

Wondershare PPT2DVD 3.8.10--convert powerpoint to dvd
http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/download.php?sid=4

When you add a hyperlink to a presentation, you must be careful that the target of the hyperlink is available. If you are giving the presentation offsite using a laptop, all the targets need to be on the laptop as well, unless your laptop is actively connected to the Internet. An alternative is to copy Web site documents you think you will need to your laptop and hyperlink to those documents. The advantage is that you don’t have to depend on getting a good connection to the Internet at your offsite location.

Often times, slides will not show up in Word 95 when using PowerPoint's Write-Up. The notes will come up alright, but the slides will appear as an empty box with resize handles. You can take care of this problem by simply turning off the picture placeholders in Word. This is done by simply:
Opening the Tools menu.
Selecting Options.
Then click the View tab, and deselect the check box labeled Picture Placeholders.
The slides should come up normally now.

resizing pictures.

You can size pictures in PowerPoint by clicking the picture with the mouse and dragging it to a new size. If you don't want to "stretch" the picture (keeping the horizontal aspect ratio the same) but enlarge it, hold the Crtl key when changing the size. You can also click the corner of the picture and enlarge it and the aspect ratio will remain the same.

3.Save your presentation, and then view the photo album in Slide Show view.Add slide show transitions and sounds to make your photo album even more fun to view.

STEP ONE: CREATE THE PRESENTATION

Before opening PowerPoint, create a folder on your desktop or in My Documents. Right-click in either location and select New Folder. Then click the folder and name it "Photo Slide Show" or another name. With dozens of photos to work with, creating a folder is necessary. Next, Create a New Slide show in PowerPoint. Enter the slideshow name by clicking the Title Text box.

STEP TWO: INSERT PHOTOS

Before tackling this step, you'll want to save all your photos on your computer, on a storage device like a floppy or CD, or on the network. If some photos are on paper only, scan and save them to one of the locations mentioned above.
To add photos to your slide show,
Click Insert-Picture-New photo album, browse to find the project folder (in which you've saved your photos!), and double-click the photo you want to insert, you can press Ctrl + mouse click or shift + mouse click to choose more photos a time.

You also might want to save a backup copy of your slide show in another
location -- on another computer, a USB drive, or the network, for example. This project will take some time to create; it would be heartbreaking to lose your work if you forge to save it during the working process.

STEP THREE: ADD MUSIC & Animation

Decide which slide you'd like the music to inserted to . The title slide or the first photo slide usually is a good choice. Music can be added to a PowerPoint presentation from one of two places: from a music file (such as an MP3 or MP4 file) saved on your computer, or from a CD playing on the computer while the slide show is running.
If you want to use music saved on your computer:
Click Insert>Movies and Sounds>Sounds from File. (for PowerPoint 2007,the sound option is on the right of the control panel)
Select the right file and click Insert.
When asked, "Do you want the file to play automatically?," click Yes.
If you want to use music on a CD:
Click Insert>Movies and Sounds>Play CD Audio Track.
Choose the sound track you want to play, how much of it you want to play (in seconds), and whether you want to loop the sound (keep playing the song through the slideshow).
Click OK. Hint: The easiest way to use music is to play a CD from beginning to end.
Then add animation of each slide ,just click the animation and choose which you like. You can select several slides and add the same animation
Save the photo album ------end

TIPS FOR PRESENTING YOUR SLIDE SHOW

1,Copyright: Be sure to check your district or school policy for using copyrighted materials before adding pictures taken by portrait studios, yearbook photos taken by non-school photographers, or music written or performed by someone other than yourself or your students. If copyright issues have not been addressed by you, start the discussion with the Copyright Quiz or Two-Page Copyright Chart; both are free Copyright Resources available from Hall Davidson, a leading expert on the topic.

2,Be aware that custom animations and animation schemes (fancy ways of moving text, graphics, and slides) sometimes can interfere with music, especially when you want the music to keep playing over a number of slides.
3,Reduce the size of photos .Digital camera photos often are very large.Compression There's more to the Photo Album thing yet - if you started with high resolution images, you'll find your Photo Album presentation saves to a huge size - if you want to email it to others, follow these steps:
Right-click any picture (actually an AutoShape with a picture fill) and choose Format AutoShape.
Choose the Picture tab in the resultant tabbed dialog box and click the 'Compress' button.
Change the resolution to Web/Screen and choose to apply to all pictures in the document (presentation). Click 'OK' and then 'Apply' to the next dialog box. Click OK again.
Resave the presentation.
If you have the time and want the album to be smaller, try to save photos in a smaller size (around 400 KB is great). You'll lose some detail, but the smaller size photos will allow the slide show to load and run faster.
To reduce the size of photos on a PC, use Photoshop or another photo editing software, or go to Programs>Accessories>Photo Editor. Click File>Open and open the photo. Click File>Save As and then decrease the size of the picture by moving the toggle bar closer to "smaller file/low quality." Rename the picture something you'll recognize as the smaller sized photo (SmallBasketballTourn.jpg, for example). Make sure you save the photo to your project folder, and then click OK.
4,The smoothest way to transition from slide to slide in a photo show is to make sure each slide transition (Format>Slide Transition)(for powerpoint2007 it is in the Animation menue ) is set to move automatically to the next slide after 3-5 seconds. That way, you don't have to click through the show using the mouse.
5,When you finished your wonderful Photo album, you may want to share it with your family or friends. You can convert it to Flash to have an online play. this tool PPT2Flash can be found in http://www.sameshow.comOr you can burn it to DVD to play it on TV , just use a remote control. This tool is in http://www.ppt-to-dvd.comIf your friends or your family or your audience have no PowerPoint in their computer , they can download PowerPoint viewer produced by Microsoft on http://www.microsoft.com

Differences between synchronous and asynchronous delivery
(when to use which method)
Synchronous
Asynchronous
Content needs an instructor – clear need for communication between instructor and student (instructor face time)
Content can stand on its own
Instructor is available when students are available
Course is available 24 x 7
Students are not necessarily self motivated
Students need just-in-time training (available when they are, not when the instructor is available)
Instructor is changing content in real time (Content is not finished)
Courses that can be used as a corporate resource, a reference for increasing productivity (e.g. can be accessed by a Knowledge Management system)
Note: Asynchronous material can be effective in a synchronous environment; the reverse is not the case.
Where PowerPoint fits in
Why PowerPoint is not a Rapid e-learning tool Does not stand on its own – needs an instructor – is not robust
Does not visually work on the web

Where PowerPoint works Good for instructor based training (it’s a presentation tool)
Existing presentations can be used as an e-learning course outline

Characteristics of a rapid e-learning tool
Short learning curve
Does not require the course developer to know how to create a course’s look and feel
Navigation built in - Automatically assures that all navigation works
Instructional design built-in
Does not require any programming or HTML knowledge
Integration with LMS’s is built-in – no advanced skills are necessary
Deploys easily - does not require any plug-ins
Advanced features such as creating links, tests, glossary, FAQ, drill down pages are built-in. Does not require any advanced skills, programming, or HTML knowledge

Question
Free or cheap program to convert powerpoint to DVD?
I am looking for a program that is free or under $50 that will convert a powerpoint slideshow with background music and transitions to a DVD. I have tried a few "free to try" programs but they leave a watermark in the slides,so those wont do. Does anyone know of any? PPT2DVD program is $100. that is too expensive for me right now. Thanks

Tutorial about how to convert powerpoint to DVD
As I am familiar to file conversion, lots of friends always ask me how to convert powerpoint presentations to DVD to play it on TV.And some others asked how to convert powerpoint to flash or other formats.I know all these issues ,and glad to write a tutorial to help friends you all.
This time I only make the guide of powerpoint to DVD, if you need more information about other conversion ,you can visit my blog below:
http://ppt2dvd.blogspot.com or contact me by email(google talk): shenzhenons@gmail.com
now ,let's begin!
This tutorial guides you through how to convert your PowerPoint presentations to video and burn it to dvd to play on a home dvd player. It's great for:
Showing presentations without the need for a computer
Distributing your slideshows to friends and colleagues
Unattended exhibition presentations, that automatically repeat/rewind
Giving your presentations more of a TV feel
And generally making you look more professional
FREE Downloadable files available at the end of the tutorial
This is THE original powerpoint to dvd tutorial - often imitated but never bettered

Theory:
You would think that you could just write your powerpoint file to a DVD and it would just work. We're sorry to report that's not the case. But we're pleased to report that it's not that difficult. This tutorial will show you how to put your powerpoint presentations on to a dvd in 3 easy steps.
Step One - Download the necessary tools
Most powerpoint slideshows have movement and animation. We want to preserve this animation on the dvd. For this we used a product called PP2DVD to grab the slideshow and convert it to a video file. Download ppt2dvd here at http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/download/powerpoint-dvd-download.phpStep Two - Conversion

Just 'browse'and select the files should be converted, and press "Next" .
If you want to burn it to dvd without any other high needs, you can press "Next" untill the end .It is very easy to use.
If you want to convert it to a MPEG file, you may pause at the " Output options " and select the " Convert to vido file"
You can set the the menue in the "play mode ". it is the start menu of your dvd,you can use a remote control to control the play mode.
such as list view, thumbnail view and auto play .
as below

Step Three - Writing the DVD
After the configurations ,you can preview the slides,
and you can record voice or background music when you are preview !
then you'll back to the interface of the last step, then click "Next" to continue with the further settings.
after that , the program will get the burner on your computer.
You can select a valid burner to burn the DVD disc. If there is not a valid burner installed yet, the output formats of the PowerPoint File will be set as CD image file as default. And you can specify the output folder to save the ISO file, and modify the volume label.

Finished!
